Share a sensory experience with your child while we dabble in free form art. Textures, smells, sights, sounds and tastes will be explored while we work with paint, paper, fabric, dough, glue, and other mixed media. The emphasis will always be on process over product in this mixed age class, as each child explores at their own level.

Examples of class activities include:
EXPLORING SOUND:
Making rain sticks, experimenting with different objects to produce different sounds.
Making drums and shakers out of boxes, soda bottles, etc.
Playing with my new music table, which includes melody bells and a wooden xylophone.
EXPLORING COLOR:
Children's literature such as Leo Leonni's LITTLE BLUE AND LITTLE YELLOW is used as a springboard with color experimentation to follow. Mixed media such as water colors, color transfer, celophane, dough and others are used.
EXPLORING SMELL AND TASTE:
Blindly smelling snack items before tasting, and making a few snacks ourselves.
EXPLORING TEXTURE:
Using different doughs and collage materials.
AND OF COURSE PAINTING:
With brushes, feathers, rollers, ping pong balls, you name it!
